These were then collected on Thursday, November 16, by a local representative from the charity.

The shoe boxes are filled with a variety of goods related to the ages of those set to receive them, such as colouring books and pens, scarves hats and gloves, small toys and essential toiletries.

Rosie Forrester, a Year 13 student and chair of the sixth form charity committee, said: “FCC supports this charity every year.

“It is easy at Christmas to forget how fortunate we are and how things that we all take for granted are considered luxuries for others.

“This is an ideal opportunity to give something back to people less fortunate than ourselves and to bring joy to them at Christmas time.”

‘Link to Hope’ is a Christian charity which aims to rebuild lives and communities in Eastern Europe through education and social care.

It was founded in 1991 and FCC have supported them annually for a number of years.
