EXOTIC animals will be making their debut at an annual fair in Bognor Regis.
The reptiles and meerkats will among the species in the petting zoo with a difference at the Hotham Park Country Fair.
This is taking place for the 14th time in the popular open space from 11am-5pm both days this weekend.
Organised by the Hotham Park Heritage Trust volunteers, the free to enter fair continues its tradition of offering a range of attractions for all ages and crafts and food.
Rosemary Warren, the trust’s chairman, said: “The fair is successful because the pitch holders who take part love the park and its atmosphere. They also like the fact it’s not a really big park.
“The visitors love the wide range of attractions and we try to include something different each year. The exotic animals are this year’s newcomers.
“There is something for everyone to enjoy and there is live entertainment throughout both days on the bandstand and for children.”
The bandstand performances on the first day will see Peter Pan panto stars from the Regis Centre appear along with the Knightstar children’s musical theatre group, award-winning Elvis impersonator Ben Thompson, and The Wonder Girls and Boys dance troupe.
The second day will feature 70s band The Triumphs, BROS cabaret and Funky Junction, a colourful funky band.
Children’s entertainment will be available both days in The Mary Macfie Pavilion, north of the park’s railway station, with Crazee Hazee with Punch and Judy Shows at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
They can also ride on the teacups or chairplanes, roll in a Zorb, have their face painted and join in the games and messy play.
Equestrian displays by The Bolingbroke Stud will take place in the showground, close to the park cafe. Big and Little piebald horses will be on display at midday and 2.45pm on Saturday. The same times on Sunday will see an Andulasian riding display.
This year’s fair is backed by Richmond Hyundai.
