Slindon will play host to artist’s work

A COLLECTION of quirky art will bring a splash of colour to a Slindon community hub.

Jean Jackman will open her exhibition at Slindon Forge on Saturday.

Entitled Wild in the Garden, Jean’s artistic showcase will be made up of an exhibition of ‘quirky, foodie, plantaholics’ paintings.

Jean said: “I have always had a great deal of affection for the village of Slindon since, as an art student back in the eighties, I chanced upon Ralph Upton’s amazing pumpkin display.

“I asked if I could come and paint them and I ended up designing his little pumpkin recipe leaflet that the family still sells today.”

Jean is looking forward to exhibiting her work at the forge, which she says is well worth a visit.

The exhibition will run until September 7.

Slindon Forge is open 8.30am-6pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am-5pm on Sunday.
