A BOGNOR Regis man has been inspired by his father to take part in a charity skydive.
Jared Dixon will leap out of a plane 15,000 feet above the Salisbury area on Saturday in aid of Parkinson’s UK.
Mr Dixon’s father, Dennis Dixon, has the progressive neurological condition. “He was diagnosed a few years ago,” said Jared, 25, of Albert Road.
“I became his full time carer for two-and-a-half years until the end of last year when he went into a care home because it became too much for me to handle.
“It’s not the easiest of things to have happen.”
Dennis, 74, now lives in Warmere Court in Yapton. Jared intends to raise money for the home and Parkinson’s UK in the coming year.
“The jump is my first ever event for charity. I’m really excited about it. It’s come round really quickly.
“I want to raise awareness of Parkinson’s and help and support the people it affects every day,” said the construction industry worker.
