Seafront pub’s financial future to be debated

The value of a Bognor seafront pub’s lease is set to be discussed next month as part of a report on regeneration in the town.

Following a Freedom of Information request by Bognor town councillor Jan Cosgrove, Arun District Council confirmed the issue will be discussed at a council meeting on May 2.

Mr Cosgrove also asked if the report includes the availability of finance for the council’s regeneration plans,.

The council confirmed that ‘that is correct’.

Plans to redevelop the Regis Centre site have long been in discussion.

However the status of the Whitbread of the Brewers Fayre pub lease has prompted questions.

The lease runs beyond the intended start of works.

The reply to the Freedom of Information request also stated the council is in negotiations regarding this lease.
