Staff at Sue Ryder in Bognor Regis picked a special day to host a first ever volunteer recruitment and donations day.

The aim was to recruit more volunteers, promote Sue Ryder and its services and to persuade the local community to provide quality donations to the store.

The event was held in conjunction with the Queen’s 90th birthday on Thursday, April 21, and there was a royal theme throughout the store.

Manger Louise Cable, along with assistant manager Yvonne Riding and retail volunteer coordinator Farzana Topia put on the event with help from their wonderful volunteers.

Farzana said: “It was a real success full of cakes, drinks, bubbles and fun. We wanted to show Bognor that we desperately required volunteers and that large donations can be dropped off at the back of the shop on Sudbury Road.”
