DAMAGED fences at a children’s play area in Aldwick were set to be repaired this week.
Arun District Council moved swiftly to limit the impact of the vandalism to the wooden structures around the site on Avisford Park recreation ground.
A council spokeswoman said the damage was found on Monday.
“Arun and its contractors, Foster Playscapes, acted straightaway to make the fencing safe again and begin repairs.
“It’s thought the damage, which saw a corner post pulled out of the ground, and will cost the council £1,300- £1,500 to repair, happened over the weekend,” she said.
Anyone who saw what happened to the fencing should call the police on 101.
