Pupils help to fight the waste battle

PUPILS have led the
charge in the battle against plastic waste.

As part of the national Pledge 4 Plastics campaign, Wastebuster teamed up with the Recycle for West Sussex Partnership to encourage pupils to collect pledges
from their communities to recycle one more plastic bottle a week.

Rose Green Infant
School was the eventual winner with more than
5,000 pledges.

Caroline Sugden, teacher and eco-coordinator at the school, said: “We took part in the Pledge 4 Plastics campaign because it really ties in with our school ethos.

“We have been a Green
Flag Eco-School for many years and teaching children about caring for the environment is very important to us.

“We are delighted with
the prizes and will be
giving a Baby Busta soft toy
to each class to use as their eco-mascot.”

Pupils will receive several prizes, including a trip to a recycling facility, an exciting assembly from the Wastebuster team and soft toys made from recycled plastic bottles.
