Post office to re-open with longer hours

EXTRA opening hours are being provided at a new-look post office.

The modernised Summerley post office will open at 1pm
next Tuesday to provide a boost for customers.

Its hours will be extended by
66 a week compared to the previous operation. They will include all day Sundays and Saturday afternoons.

This has been achieved by providing the services at a combination counter at a post office terminal alongside the retail till during the Summerley Lane, Felpham, store’s opening hours of 6am-10pm daily.

Peter Wilkinson, the Post Office’s area manager, said: “We know how important post office services are to residents in Bognor.

“We are confident this vibrant new-style post office at the heart of the community will be popular.

“The modernisation is part of a government investment programme that is enabling
us to continue investing
in the post office network
and to map out a bold growth strategy through to the end of
this decade.”

The branch closed for refurbishment on January 12. Its previous opening hours were 9am-5.30pm on weekdays and
9am-12.30pm on Saturdays.

The additional hours will give customers more choice about when to visit.

They will be able to use a range of post office and mail services such as special delivery, local collect and online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.

Other services will include withdrawals using a post
office card account, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, and paying bills, pre-ordering travel money, applying for
travel insurance and topping up mobile phones.
