Tories claim city council by-election victory

The Conservatives have claimed a by-election victory at Chichester City Council.

Christopher Spink will be the newest representative for Chichester East, polling 356 votes ahead of Labour’s Kevin Hughes on 317 and Lib Dem Michael Woolley on 275.

Heather Barrie received 88 votes for the Greens.

Patria’s Andrew Emerson finished with 18 votes.

The turnout yesterday (Thursday August 16) was 17.18 per cent.
