Police appeal to find bike stolen in Felpham

POLICE have asked for help in tracing a bicycle stolen in a Felpham burglary.

The cycle was stolen in a burglary at a home in Summerley Lane between 5.30pm and 9.15pm on Sunday (June 15).

The green, white and black Trek 9.7 elite mountain bike, shown in the picture, is worth £1,800.

Katy Wood, from the priority crime team in Bognor Regis, said: “We believe the intruder got into the home through the conservatory, took the bike and then left.

“The bike is very distinctive so I hope that if anyone is offered it they will be able to recognise it as the stolen one.

“If you buy an item that you suspect could be stolen you are committing a criminal offence and as well as being prosecuted you will have the item taken away.

“If you are in any doubt, call us.”

Sussex Police has launched Operation Magpie to tackle burglary across the county.

Anyone with information about the bike should call 101 quoting serial 1460 of 15/6, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
