AN APPEAL for witnesses has been made after a Bognor Regis motorist was injured in a collision on the seafront.

Police officers would like to speak to anyone who was on The Esplanade on Thursday, January 23, when a Citroen C3 left the road.

The car was being driven eastwards towards Gloucester Road but it struck a lamppost by the entrance to the launching ramp.

The 85-year-old driver suffered a head injury and was taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester. He was discharged the next day.

Sergeant Rob Baldwin said: “Anyone who saw the collision, or who saw the vehicle being driven just beforehand, is asked to contact us on 101, quoting serial 625 of 23/1, or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk”
