A CHARITY’S picnic in the park has benefited from a police funding boost.

Bognor Regis police have donated £250 to United Response to fund a picnic in the park event.

A senior support worker said: “United Response provides a range of services for people with learning disabilities, mental health needs or physical disabilities.

“Thanks to this donation we can provide a picnic in the park for our clients and the community.

“Often people with mental health problems or disabilities can feel isolated so an event of this kind will be great fun and is a good way to bring everyone together.”

The donation comes from the Police Property Act Fund (PPAF), made up of monies received by the police from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold.

PCSO Tracy Ford said: “I am pleased to be able to present this donation for a worthwhile event.”
