Home-Start Chichester and District has also received a three-year grant of £30,000 to provide parenting skills support for families with young children, to enable them to build positive relationships, improve communication, and further develop the overall wellbeing of parents and children.

Val Hughes, chairman of trustees for Home-Start Chichester and District, said: “I want to say a massive thank you to BBC Children in Need for the newly awarded funding.

“This means we can provide a range of support to families with young children, living in the local community.

“We can’t wait to put the funds to work and help families to build positive relationships, and support their overall wellbeing.”

The new funding awards, made possible following BBC Children in Need’s 2019 Appeal in November, mean the charity has now invested more than £331,000 across the area.

In addition to these grants, BBC Children in Need has launched two dedicated Covid-19 response programmes to support charities and organisations across the UK who are providing essential help to children and young people in urgent need of support, and funding has already begun to be distributed.
