Gardens set to open to public this weekend as part of the National Gardens Scheme

A garden in West Stoke is set to open its gates to the public on Sunday as part of the National Gardens Scheme.

The garden, at 4 Hillside Cottages, in Downs Road, will be open from 11am to 4pm and is densely planted with mixed borders and shrubs and has a large collection of roses, mainly new English shrub roses, with walls, fences and arches covered with mid and late season clematis and baskets overflowing with fuchsias.

Whithurst Park, in Plaistow Road, Kirdford, is also holding an open day on Sunday, while 54 Elmleigh, in Midhurst, is open on Saturday and Sunday, and Peelers Retreat, at 70 Ford Road, Arundel, is open on Tuesday.

All visits to any of the gardens must be pre-booked and paid for online by visiting the NGS website at www.ngs.org.uk

The number of visitors at any one time will be restricted in accordance with social-distancing guidelines.
