PRAM racers will be out in force around Pagham again today (Boxing Day 2014).
The traditional bank holiday fun will start as usual at 11am at Nyetimber Mill on Pagham Road.
But, as reported, the three-mile route will contain an important change this year.
The King’s Beach Hotel’s closure on Sea Lane means the racers cannot enjoy their usual pint of beer there.
Pagham Beach Café owner Maria Griggs and her family have agreed to replace the hotel and host a beer station outside their premises.
These are opposite the former hotel. The other two beer stations stay at The Bear and The Lamb.
Committee member Andrew Goodwill said: “Marshals will be positioned to guide all racers along the correct new route.
“The rest of the race route will not be affected and the usual rules will apply.”
Signing on for the race is at 10am at the start.
