Owners and pooches can get involved

A SPONSORED dog walk called Woof for Wilf is set to raise funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Pooches will be sponsored to complete as many circuits of Hotham Park in Bognor Regis as possible.

Tracey Hicks, a member of the hospice’s housekeeping team, was among those who has been suggesting such an event for sometime.

“When I was participating in the Moonlight Walk, I heard lots of people saying how they would like to do a sponsored walk with their best friend – their dog.

“So that got me thinking about how much I like to walk my own dog Albi, and I thought I’d take the idea back to work with me and let the fundraising team know,”
said Tracey.

Julie Longman, events and community manager, said: “We are really excited about this event, and we know there are lots of dogs out there who would love to bring their owners along for a walk and a treat. We hope it will be a real family atmosphere on the day, and dogs taking part can bring as many companions as they like.”

Entry is £7.50 per dog and the event is set to take place on July 6 from 9am-11am.
