MILLY LUXFORD: Random acts of kindness very much help to brighten all of our days...

I WAS reading a story today about a lady who has made it her mission to brighten other people’s days by carrying out random acts of kindness.

From leaving unused scratch cards pinned to trees to paying other people’s bills in cafes, different people in her hometown of Leyland in Lancashire are benefiting from these kind gestures which she is doing just to make others smile.

How amazing is that?

A lovely and inspiring lady, and actually it doesn’t even need to cost anything, just a simple smile or an honest compliment can really brighten someone’s day.

I think it is so easy to forget that sometimes, especially at such a dreary time of year. So, that is my belated new year resolution now that Dry January is over (and hallelujah to that, may I say!)

On Sunday, I took part in a fantastic Zumbathon event down at the Westgate Leisure centre in aid of the Snowdrop Trust, organised by local mother Helen Court who tragically lost her son, Joshua, to Cancer when he was just 18 months.

The whole family have been supported by this fantastic organisation ever since and this is just one of many ways the Court family have repaid them for this kindness.

I am so please to say that around 130 local lovelies attended the Zumbathon and an incredible £1,324 was raised for the Sussex Snowdrop Trust.

So, huge congratulations to Helen for organising such a fun and worthy event. Smiles all round.

And at Spirit FM we are giving you the chance to plant a big, fat smile on someone’s chops by way of saying ‘THANK YOU’ to a special person in your life.

Every week we have a beautiful bouquet of flowers to giveaway.

So, whether you have an amazing mum, a special friend or work colleague that goes above and beyond the call of duty to help you out, you can say thanks with a little floral delight on us.
