MILLY LUXFORD: Everyone’s a winner in awards season, even if you just want liposuction!

Award season is in full swing, what with the Oscars, the Brits Awards and of course we mustn’t forget the ‘Razzies’.

Big congrats to Cameron Diaz who bagged herself ‘Worst Actress’ for Sex Tape and The Other Woman, by the way. Tough crowd!

When it comes to the Academy Awards though, tears, overly-long acceptance speeches, hugely-questionable attire and ridiculously-priced goodie bags are the talk of the town and this year proved to be no different.

So, just what was in the $160,000 (gulp) Oscars 2015 goody bag?

Liposuction vouchers (like any of them need it?!), ‘mind control lessons’ from a psychic, art, fine wine, jewellery and luxury travel vouchers.

That is just the tip of the iceberg… Looks like everyone is a winner when it comes to the Oscars.

Seriously though, do they really need to be showered with such unnecessary splendour? I know I merely have a touch of the green eyes, but still… $160,000? Crazy talk!

As ever, the ceremony was also packed with the obligatory haul of awkward moments (which mostly involved John Travolta) but I think it’s fair to say that most hearts went out to young Dakota Johnson, when her mother Melanie Griffith caused some red carpet tension by admitting she still hadn’t seen her daughter’s film, Fifty Shades of Grey. Ouch!

Okay, so potentially it could prove to be a little, let’s say icky, but you would hope for a little parental support?!

Or is it just a case of ‘you know it’s bad when even your own mum doesn’t want to watch your film’?
