POLICE are hoping to reunite stolen property with its owners following thefts across the Bognor Regis area.

Officers have recovered 27 items of property they believe are stolen after carrying out a search at an address in Lilac Close, Bognor.

Residents who have been targeted by thieves are now being asked to visit to see if they can identify any of the stolen items as belonging to them.

Inspector Marc Clothier said: “We have searched our database of reported thefts and contacted as many people as we can but we have still have lots of items that cannot be returned to the owner unless they come forward.

“We are keen to reunite people with all of their property and are asking for the local community to look at the images and make contact if you recognise any items that could be yours.”

A photo album has also been created on the Bognor Regis and Littlehampton Police Facebook pages.

Among the items to be claimed are electrical tools, sat navs and fishing items.

It is suspected the property was stolen from the Littlehampton and Bognor areas over a period of several months.

A 28-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been arrested and questioned on suspicion of burglary.

They have both been released on bail until 14 November.

If you believe any of the items are yours, email or call 101 to make an appointment to look at the recovered property.

Residents are also being encouraged to register their items on the world’s largest property database so if stolen, they can be returned - and offenders prosecuted.
