A community turned out to help celebrate the reopening of a revamped store and post office.
Bognor and Littlehampton MP Nick Gibb joined parish councillors and residents who will be enjoying the refurbished Nisa Local store in North Bersted.
The village shop and post office on Chichester Road, North Bersted will ‘bring a much needed community feel back to the parade’, Ron Flatt said in his welcoming speech.
Brian Knight, chairman of Bersted Parish Council, said: “It will be an asset to the parade and we hope the parade will continue to thrive. We wish Mr and Mrs Patel the well and thank them for providing this much-needed store and post office.”
The opening ceremony took place on Saturday, April 16, where new owners Ragin and Roshni Patel welcomed people into their new-look store.
Ragin Patel said: “This was an exciting new challenge, we recognised this store needed modernisation and with the support of the community we invested the money to provide a store to suit the community and also the post office.
“A small part of all the profits from this store will be invested back into the community which we are really pleased about.
“We look forward to meeting all customers old and new.
“Thank you to everyone who has welcomed us and to those also who took the time to support our opening day.”
Mr Gibb took time out of his busy schedule to turn out. He said: “It is always a pleasure to see the fruits of a major investment.
“Ragin and Roshni Patel have invested a considerable sum of money to upgraded their shop and post office to a very high standard.
This well-stocked and beautifully fitted out new shop will be welcome to Bersted residents and I wish the Patels the success they deserve.”
