New HQ for Bognor Regis Scouts

New building

SCOUTING in Bognor Regis will have a new focal point.

The two portable buildings which will make up a new dedicated headquarters for scouts from across the area have been delivered.

The siting of the buildings, at their new home at the Scouting location in Central Drive, went fairly smoothly after a previous attempt failed due to unforeseen circumstances.

As well as being the Scout’s Bognor district headquarters, for two hours a week the building will be used as a shop.

The new buildings are on the same site as the original scout hut which was almost 100 years old.

The buildings, started out as car showroom offices for Renault in Peterborough.

They are being fitted out for their new lease of life in a project which is expected to have costed around £35,000 by the time it is finished.

A grant from West Sussex Scouts will cover £5,000 of the expense and Bognor’s Scouts have been given a £10,000 loan from the county Scout Association towards the costs

The rest of the money has been collected through tireless fundraising over the last two years.
