MP Nick Gibb has told Bognor Regis area residents he backs a poll on Europe.
Mr Gibb, the Conservative MP for the town, supported the passage of the EU Referendum Bill in a Commons vote last Friday.
He said: “I believe very strongly there should be a referendum following the government’s endeavours to seek a renegotiation of our terms of membership.
“It is more than a generation since the people of this country had an opportunity to vote on whether Britain should or should not be a member of the European Union.
“Since 1975, the structure and powers of the EU have changed dramatically.”
