Motorcyclist suffers multiple 'potentially life-changing' injuries after crash near Chichester

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a collision with a car outside Chichester on Tuesday (June 2)

According to Sussex Police, the incident, involving a moped and a green Citroen Xsara, happened on the A285, at the junction with New Road and Stane Street, shortly before 10.40am.

The road was closed until about 1.25pm as emergency services dealt with the incident.

A spokesman said: "The moped rider was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with multiple, potentially life-changing, injuries. The Citroen driver sustained minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured it on dash cam, is asked to email [email protected] quoting Operation Southbrook."
