NEW discs for more free car parking in Bognor Regis go on sale today.
The yellow cardboard clocks will enable motorists to stay for up to two hours without parking in the 201-space Hothamton car park.
This extension to the existing free parking scheme in the Lyon Street and Fitzleet car parks will begin on January 1.
But the discs can now be bought for £1 from Unique Promotions in The Arcade, Heaps of PCs on London Road, Bognor Regis Observer/visitor information point on the Place St Maur and Bognor Regis Town Hall.
They will also be available from 10am-midday from a stall in the London Road precinct run by town centre business owners Chris Heaps and Paul Wells.
A leaflet will be given out with a full list of stockists. Mr Heaps, the Bognor Regis Traders’ Association chairman, said: “In terms of spaces, adding Hothamton to the scheme will make a big difference. It is also important it provides a lot more ground level spaces.
“The hope is this will encourage more people to visit Bognor and spend more time and money here.”
Mr Wells said: “Adding Hothamton will make a large difference to some of my customers who don’t want to use Fitzleet and can’t get into Lyon Street.”
The current free parking scheme has run for two years with a white disc for the 343 spaces in Fitzleet and 61 in Lyon Street.
