Models step out to create successful fashion show

IT WAS standing room only when the first fashion show was held in the new Barnham Community Hall.

St Wilfrid’s Hospice staged the recent spring event before an audience of more than 180 to create standing room only in the hall’s main space.

Hospice shop manager and show organiser Margaret Dowling said: “It was a rip-roaring success.

“I’d like to thank everyone involved, including David Phillips who was a big part of the community hall project and kept encouraging me to hold the event here.”

The show raised just over £1,800 for the Chichester hospice.

The models paraded across the stage in a variety of fabulous outfits from fun and funky to formal evening wear. The loudest cheers were quite often for the two male models.

The audience enjoyed the show with a glass of wine or a soft drink – and then the shopping began.

There were several rails of clothes, tables of accessories and the chance to buy the outfits which had been modelled a few minutes earlier.

There was also a raffle with more than 30 prizes.

Visitors had great fun searching for the bargain buys.
