Meeting will look at free parking plan

MAKING free parking in Bognor Regis better is the subject of a meeting tomorrow (February 8).

The civic society’s monthly meeting will be focused on creating a scheme equal to that in Littlehampton.

Civic society deputy chairman Hugh Coster said Bognor’s scheme was worth much less than Littlehampton’s.

“We pay exactly the same money for free parking to Arun District Council as Littlehampton does.

“Yet the scheme they give us is less than half the value and has 66 ground level spaces in comparison to 382.

“Why is this and what can be done to put it right?

“And what can be done to create a really top-quality scheme covering all town centre car parks?”

The meeting will take place at 7.30pm in the Regis Centre.

Representatives from county, district and parish councils have been invited along with those who helped the society found the scheme.
