It welcomed visitors for its annual open day, held this year on Sunday, August 5.

Richard Bushby and Sandra Hamilton of the Mazegarden said: “The visitors were able to walk around thievery colourful gardens and wildlife areas, the Maze as usual was the main attraction with help on hand for lost souls. Tea, Cakes and ice creams were consumed in abundance and there were stalls of talented crafters and a huge plant sale, all of which were very busy all day. “The event was raising money for Perennial - Gardeners’ Royal Benevolent Society, a charity for the horticultural industry which is needed more now than ever before with the decline of the industry in this area.

“This year with an ever larger band of volunteer helpers the sum of £3,000 was raised for the charity. Over the last 16 years the open day has now achieved more than £33,300 in total.

“Finally, Mazegarden would like to thank all of the volunteers, most of whom, have been supporting the event since it started but also with wonderful new helpers who put their heart and soul into making the day such a success. Thank you to everyone.”
