THE new Marks & Spencer foodhall currently being built in Bognor is set to open next month.

The 9,100sq.ft store will be located at Arun Retail Park, Shripney Road, and promises to ‘offer customers the quality and freshness of M&S food’.

Store manager Steve Lake said: “We are looking forward to bringing a new M&S Foodhall to Bognor Regis, which will provide local shoppers with a fantastic M&S food and drink offer, as well as an in-store bakery.

“The M&S team and I are eagerly awaiting 10am on Wednesday, October 7, when we can open our doors and welcome our new customers.”

An opening

Local shoppers can look forward to more than 4,000 M&S food and drink lines, along with a selection of flowers, cards and gift wrap and a new in-store bakery, which will offer a range of speciality breads, pastries and cakes, freshly baked on site each day.

There is set to be an opening party on the day to mark the popular retailer’s return to the town nearly 25 years after it left.

It is taking the site left vacant by a former Comet store on the Arun Retail Park on the A29 Shripney Road.

M&S is set to be joined by Next, with a clothing store set to open next door on the site vacated by Kwik-fit, who moved to another location nearby.

The new M&S store will also provide the popular Food to Order and Shop Your Way services, giving customers the choice of ordering from M&S.com in-store or online, with the added benefit of free next day in-store delivery and collection.

The company said the new store would create some 50 jobs for the local area.
