Man, 72, undergoes surgery for 'life-changing injuries' after Bognor Regis collision

A 72-year-old pedestrian suffered 'live-changing injuries' following a collision in Bognor Regis this week.

The incident involving a white Ford Transit Connect occurred in Chichester Road, at the junction with Central Avenue, just after 10am on Saturday (July 4)/

Sussex Police has launched an appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

The pedestrian, a 72-year-old local man, was taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester where he underwent surgery for life-changing – but not life-threatening – injuries, police have said.

A section of the road was temporarily closed while police were in attendance, and police have thanked the public for their patience and understanding.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Anyone who saw what happened or witnessed a white Ford Transit connect being driven in the area prior to the collision – or anyone with relevant dash cam or CCTV footage – is asked to email [email protected] quoting serial 400 of 04/07."
