Plans have been submitted which detail another decade of use at the Lidsey oil site on Lidsey Road, Aldingbourne.
A spokesman for Angus Energy Ltd said the company ‘looks forward’ to working with the county council on the ‘renewal process’.
They added: “The company continues to conventionally produce oil from this economically viable site, as such, our application reflects only our approved production operations without change or any new request.
“No new drilling or new wells are requested. ”
The application (WSCC/008/18/BN), which was validated on February 9, details retention of Lidsey oil site, including two existing wells and production plant and equipment within the existing site, to produce hydrocarbons for a further period of ten years.
Consultation runs until March 15, see www.buildings.westsussex.gov.uk for more information.
