A LEISURE centre operator has pledged to donate £10 to charity for every joining fee taken out this month.
Freedom Leisure – which runs the Six Villages Sports Centre in Westergate with West Sussex County Council – will make the donation to the British Heart Foundation.
Simon Wagstaff, the Freedom leisure centre manager, said: “The BHF is our official charity and we thought, what better way to support its heart month, than by pledging a donation for each new member who joins us during national heart month?
“People join a leisure centre to improve their health and wellbeing so we think it’s appropriate to support other people’s health by donating to the BHF in this way.
“I also hope our pledge will encourage people who are thinking about signing up to do so before the end of the month so they can start to improve their fitness sooner rather than later.”
