Kind gift will help Arun’s good causes

CHARITIES will benefit from a generous gesture.

Arun District Council’s chairman Ann Smee and her husband Bill have shown their commitment to raising funds for charity by pledging £1,000 of their own money to help her forthcoming fundraiser.

To generate much-needed cash for her chosen good causes - Combat Stress and the National Osteoporosis Society - Cllr Mrs Smee will host the Arun Chairman’s Charity Race Day at Fontwell Park.

She said: “I am passionate about raising funds for my chosen charities and that is why Bill and I have pledged our own money.”

Arun’s chief executive Nigel Lynn praised Cllr Mrs Smee and her husband for the generosity and commitment to charitable causes.

“Ann and Bill are so committed to raising funds for these worthy charities so I am delighted that our joint efforts have secured sponsors. I am really looking forward to supporting our chairman at Fontwell which promises to be a fantastic afternoon,” he said.

The event kicks off at midday on September 9. Details are available at
