Today sees the start of the new continental street market in Bognor Regis.
The inaugural visit to the town will see the market in place until bank holiday Monday. RR Events, the North-West company behind the offering, said residents and visitors should ‘expect the town centre to be brought to life with the sights, sounds and smells of the continent’.
Managing director Tony Walsh added: “Our team of staff and traders have been involved in markets across Europe for over ten years. We are particularly proud of our Continental Street Market brand as we know the atmosphere it brings to the towns and cities we visit. We would like to thank Bognor Regis Town Centre Management for their hard work planning the event and hope it’s well received.”
The market, which is travelling the length and breadth of the UK as part of its 2018 tour, is set to see ‘around 25 traders’ selling ‘the best of the continent’s gastronomic delights and craft items’, according to Mr Walsh.
“The food on offer will range from cakes and pastries for those with a sweet tooth, flavoured cheeses and olives for those who prefer savoury treats, as well as a host of hot food offerings such as Greek gyros, Spanish paella, Polish bigos and shao kao Chinese chicken,” he added.
