Get building for the Big Sleep-out

DUST off your winter jumpers and sleeping bags for Stonepillow’s Big Sleep-out this weekend.

People from the age of six to 86 have already signed up, but it isn’t too late to register.

On Saturday, sleep-out participants will flock to the cathedral green and build their own cardboard shelter, ready to sleep under the stars.

There will be refreshments, a barbecue and activities throughout the day.

The event raises money for homeless people in the area, and it is Stonepillow’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

The charity hopes to raise £10,000 this year, as well as raising awareness of the issues faced by homeless people in the area.

The funds raised will go towards the work of the charity, which includes a night shelter, accommodation to get people’s lives back on track, as well as Stonepillow Restore, which gets homeless people back into work.

The Big Sleep-out starts at 12.30pm on Saturday and finishes on Sunday at 8am.

Even if you can’t sleep out, there will be fundraising stalls including a tombola and cakes from the Chichester Clandestine Cake Club at the cathedral green on Saturday.
