ONE CATEGORY is already proving popular in our Community Awards – Best Community Person has received three nominations in the first week.

Wendy Morris, leader for the 1st South Bersted Cubs, was nominated by Ally McCaffrey.

“Wendy works tirelessly inspiring young people to help in the community by holding events such as the Green Footprint and litter collections and has embarked on a partnering project at West Park to provide a nature area for use by the community,” she said.

Carolyn Sweeney, from Creations, was nominated by Emma Baines.

“Carolyn constantly looks to help others,” she said.

“Whether it be our free wig personalisation service, linking in with the local hospitals and hospices to help anyone suffering from hair loss, to giving six of our team the chance to go to South Africa to build a house.”

Debbie Marsh was nominated by Nikki Rowling for her work managing a girls’ pompom troupe and in the community.

“Debbie is a much-loved person in the community and a friend to many,” she said.
