A TWO-STOREY block of flats in Aldwick caught fire late last night, Monday, June 1.

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service were called to the flats in Bucknor Close at 11.22pm to reports of a first-floor kitchen fire.

Two fire engines from Bognor were sent and extinguished the blaze in around 30 minutes.

The first floor of the flats was completely destroyed by heat and smoke, the fire service said.

It is believed to have started in the kitchen accidentally.
