Police are seeking witnesses after a flat was burgled in Aldwick Road and a dog went missing.
The incident happened sometime between 10am and 1.50pm on Saturday June 11, police have just told the Observer.
A pair of Air Max 95 trainers were stolen and at some point during the burglary a Rottweiler dog also went from the flat, ‘in circumstances which are not clear’.
The dog was found a short while later, safely tied to a tree in nearby West Park, and was returned to her owner.
A man who was seen nearby running alongside the dog is described as about 5’9”, of stocky build, with short dark hair and wearing a blue jacket with blue or black sleeves and possibly a black hoody as well.
Witnesses are unable to say exactly what time the dog and the man were seen.
Detective Constable Jo French said “If you saw what happened, or have any other information about this incident please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 101, quoting serial 1306 of 11/06.”
