A MAN has been arrested after powerful stun guns were found in a Ford business unit.

Officers from Sussex Police’s serious organised crime unit (SOCU) executed search warrants at a private address in Sea Road, East Preston and at a business unit on the Rudford Industrial Estate in Ford on May 1.

During the search at Ford detectives found two powerful taser stun guns disguised as torches in a car and a further 13 concealed in the suspended ceiling of the unit.

Officers also contacted West Sussex Trading Standards after finding a quantity of counterfeit goods including perfume, watches, clothing, footwear, sunglasses, and a large selection of illegal large Chinese fireworks which were not stored safely.

Trading Standards are investigating those matters.

A 29-year-old East Preston man was arrested at the unit on suspicion of importation and possession of the stun guns.

He has been released on police bail until September 25 while enquiries continue.
