Sussex Police revealed on Wednesday (May 12) that officers received a report of a man whistling and following a girl who was on her way home from school in Florence Park, Chichester, shortly before 5pm on Tuesday afternoon.

A police spokesperson has since clarified that officers, who spoke to the girl, established the man was walking his dog at the time and 'did not approach her'.
