Prison sentence handed to man who stole purse from Chichester hotel
A man who stole a purse from a member of staff at a hotel in Chichester last week has been jailed.
According to Sussex Police, Jack Jones, 25, of no fixed address, has been sentenced to 18-weeks imprisonment after being convicted of burglary.
Jones was arrested after he stole a staff member's purse from a staff area at the Travelodge last Tuesday (March 9).
Jones had been staying there at the time of the theft, police said.
He pleaded guilty at court on Thursday (March 11) and was sentenced to 18 weeks imprisonment, ordered to pay £10 compensation and £85 costs.
Police said this offence meant that a suspended sentence order of 15 weeks relating to another burglary in February 2020 was triggered. Jones will serve both sentences concurrently.
