Police warn of break-ins to vehicles

POLICE have warned motorists across the Bognor Regis area to remove all valuables from vehicles after a series of break-ins.

Officers have continued to receive reports about vehicles, particularly work vans, being broken into.

Tools and other valuables such as bags, coats and satellite navigation systems have been stolen.

In Upper Bognor Road, a car window was smashed and a beige and brown handbag stolen sometime between 3pm-3.45pm on March 30.

Two days earlier, three vans parked in three different streets were broken into.

Tools including a nail gun and battery driver were taken when the works vehicle parked in Cygnet Walk was accessed.

The same night a thief also broke into a van parked in Osprey Gardens, and again tools were taken.

A bag containing papers has been reported missing after a van parked in Heron Close was also targeted.

Police advice is to remove any items, particularly when leaving your vehicle overnight, and security mark any tools.

Anyone with any information about the above crimes should telephone Sussex Police on their non-emergency number 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
