Police investigate sexual assault in Bognor

Police are investigating a report that a 40-year-old local woman was the victim of a sexual assault on Bognor seafront on Saturday, July 2.

The woman was found by police in gardens opposite The Esplanade at around 3.30am.

Detective Constable Neil James from West Sussex CID said: “We are trying to piece together what happened to the woman and who she was with prior to the alleged assault.

“We are specifically looking to speak to the man who alerted a local taxi office to this woman.

“If you saw the woman in the area of the Regis Centre before or after the incident please call Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting reference WA1/060131/11, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
