GET your cycle marked in Bognor Regis as police tackle bike thefts.

As part of the initiative Operation Velo, officers from Sussex Police will be out marking bicycles next month in a bid to combat thefts.

The scheme uses a new way of marking and registering bikes. Each bicycle is marked using an anti-tamper label and the owner’s details are registered on a national database.

Cyclists can come along to the events and speak to the team about registering their bicycle and to get advice about different types of locks.

You must take along your email details and ID.

Marking will take place at the following times:

n June 6 from 3pm to 6pm in the High Street.

n June 13 from 11am to 2pm in the Regis Centre.

n June 20 from 11am to 12pm in the Arun Leisure Centre.

n June 23 from 11am to 3pm in the High Street.
