Witnesses who saw a dark-coloured car near the site of a tool theft in North Bersted have been asked to contact the police.

The £1,000 worth of power tools were stolen from an unfinished property at The Croft.

PC Sarah Lallament, of Sussex Police’s Bognor Regis neighbourhood response team, said: “We believe the tools were taken from the property about 1.30am.

“We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area and, in particular, anyone who saw a dark-coloured BMW or Audi car in the area with a male driver inside.”

The tools stolen on August 19 were a Mikita 18V cordless battery drill with three batteries, a Dewalt power drill and a blue Mikita disc cutter, model number DPC6430 and serial number 2010336403.

Information about the vehicle or the tools being offered for sale should be given to Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
