The victim was asleep in bed when a downstairs window was smashed and a man walked into the bedroom holding a knife, police said.

He walked through the property before returning to the bedroom and stealing £30 cash and left through the broken window, according to police. There were no reported injuries.

The suspect has been described by police as around 6ft, between 20-30 years of age with dark hair and wearing dark clothing with a red handkerchief over his face.

Police said a 26-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and released on bail until April 5 pending further enquiries.
