TV Licensing has revealed more than 200 people were caught watching TV without a licence in Bognor Regis during the first half of 2012.
This compares to some 110-plus in Chichester and a figure of more than 140 in Worthing.
The law breakers are among more than 204,000 people across the UK between January and June of this year caught without licences.
The average evasion rate remains at a low of just over five per cent to mean almost 95 per cent of properties are correctly licensed.
Victoria Sykes, a TV Licensing spokeswoman, said: “The figures paint a very positive picture.
“The vast majority of people in the UK continue to pay their licence fee.
“Unfortunately, a minority of people do not pay for their licence, which is unfair to the law-abiding majority who do.”
