Bag snatched from woman in Bognor

Police are seeking witnesses to a bag snatch in a Bognor Regis street.

Just after 6.40pm on Thursday, December 1, a 68-year-old Chichester woman who works in Bognor Regis, was getting into her car in Victoria Road South, off Aldwick Road.

She had just put a large plastic bag on the ground in order to put her dog in the car, when she was pushed from behind and fell down.

A man, described as being 5ft 9ins, slim, wearing dark clothing, a hoody and possibly trainers, grabbed the bag and ran off.

The bag contained her mobile phone, personal organiser, personal correspondence, and £600 cash. The victim had slight cut to her arm which did not require hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Andrea Watts said: “The victim was badly shaken and upset by this attack, and we hope passers-by or drivers in the Aldwick Road area of the town will have seen this man running away.
