Arrests follow drug crackdown in Arun

POLICE in Arun have made three arrests in their continued crackdown on drugs and associated crime in the district.

Warrants were executed at four homes in Bognor Regis and three in Littlehampton as part of Operation Impact.

District and forces resources, including neighbourhood officers and police dogs, were deployed during the activity on December 17, which led to a 31-year-old man and a 26-year-old man being arrested for cannabis possession in Mons Avenue and Pevensey Road.

A 25-year-old man from Gloucester Road, Littlehampton, was also arrested for the cultivation of cannabis after a cannabis factory was disrupted.

Inspector Jason Wilson said: “This day of action saw us execute a number of warrant as part of an ongoing drive to target criminality in the community.

“I would urge anyone who has information about what is going on in their street to contact us on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 to help us further curb crime.

“One of the keys to the success of this operation is to ensure that any addicts committing crime identified as part of Operation Impact are offered appropriate support to help them change their behaviour.

“We will be working closely with partner agencies to aim to support anyone who would like to fight their addiction.”
