Councillors want to see more guides

POCKET-sized tourism guides covering the Bognor Regis area and beyond have been praised.

The Sussex by the Sea Guide which provides information for visitors and residents looking for things to do across the Arun district was given the thumbs-up.

The positive comments were made at a meeting of Arun District Council’s leisure, tourism and infrastructure working group last Thursday.

Phil Hitchens (Con, Aldwick West) said: “I like the pocket-sized guide. It is perfect to pick up and put in your pocket.”

Cllr Hitchens asked the council’s business development (tourism) officer Margaret Murphy if it could be put into more places.

“You walk around and you see Goodwood leaflets everywhere, from places like the little fish and chip shop to hotels, we should be doing this,” he said.

The working group’s chairman Dr James Walsh (LD, Beach) agreed. “It doesn’t have to be expensive just the cardboard stands would be a good start,” he said.

Mrs Murphy told the meeting this was being looked into.
